Dr. Cristóbal Pacheco
Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling

Cristóbal Pacheco is a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Psychology, combining strong academic training with years of clinical experience to help people facing emotional and psychological challenges.

He works with individuals struggling with borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and feelings of emptiness or lack of meaning in life. He also works with immigrants and refugees experiencing psychological distress related to migration, cultural adjustment, and identity loss — issues often referred to as part of the migration crisis and its mental health implications.

Cris’ therapeutic approach is warm, supportive, and integrative, drawing from Humanistic Psychotherapy, Existential Analysis, Logotherapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cristóbal’s priority is to provide a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore their struggles, gain clarity, and build resilience. He is dedicated to helping people find new ways of coping, improving relationships, and moving toward a life with greater balance, purpose, and hope.

In addition to his counselling work, Cristóbal is a Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia and a member of the Phenomenology and Mental Health Network at the University of Oxford. He has published books and articles on mental health, philosophy, migration, and the study of human experience, which enrich his understanding of the unique challenges each person faces.

Cristóbal is fully fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to provide counselling in either language according to each client’s needs.
